The FGS detects and identifies manual stars and makes sure that Webb is locked on to those stars for the whole observation. Detectors soak up light and change it into electrical prices so that the knowledge carried during the light (brightness, wavelength, and situation) might be stored as digital data before becoming converted into radio signal
